Um, what did I just read? I honestly wasted my time reading this book… ok so let’s talk about the plot. Oh wait, there wasn’t one. Just two people falling in and out of love and how their love influenced their lives and where they were. Nothing. I only continued to read this because I was hoping SOMETHING would happen. But nothing happened.. The lack of speech marks really annoyed me too. I wasn’t sure when someone was speaking or not, and had to insert the speech marks myself. Like it’s not cool or quirky to not include them, it’s just so confusing. Don’t recommend if you’re looking for a book with a plot. Didn’t gain anything out of reading this. Soz

Not sure if I read the same book as the ones people are describing in the reviews but honestly, I liked it, but not like it was the best romance book I’ve ever read. Personally, I loved the banter and chemistry between the two. Loved reading the first half of the book until all of a sudden, it got SUPER steamy. Like she’s sitting on his lap, and stuff like that and … uh they’re already doing it. I felt like I was reading a wattpad story omg Was quite stereotypical though. Dark tall broody white mysterious man, brown haired usually named Olive clumsy girl. Fake date until they aren’t faking it, whatever. I feel like I need to read something DIFFERENT. Isn’t the books fault but booktok needs to get more diverse. I didn’t really feel completely satisfied after reading it though. Didn’t feel like a different person or anything like that. But do I recommend it? Yes. Was it THAT amazing? Not really.

It’s… ok. I managed to read the book and feel quite satisfied with it, but i thought some of the moments were so corny and cringe, especially the butt massage or whatever that was. Love the enemies to lovers and fake dating trope though, but was quite predictable. Like once they’re she finds out something, she gets mad at him, they break up, they still want each other, they get back together. Not sure but I think these type of books need something ELSE other than the same story over and over again in a different circumstance. Ok well maybe I’m babbling a bit too much but I really loved Ethan and Olives banter and thought the situation was quite original! I recommend !!

Yeah, nah sorry this book was not for me. I had very high expectations for this book, especially as it was all over tiktok and a friend recommended it to me. But argh I could not get into it. Greek mythology has never really interested me, so when I had heard about the book I was quite reluctant to buy it. But once people said it made them cry and believe in soulmates, I decided to give it a go. And no, it didn’t make me cry or anything… and I struggled to get through it. Like the whole storyline and everything is sad, but it didn’t get me to the point of crying. Just quite a boring book for me, nothing particularly wrong but it didn’t interest me enough to care about the characters. It may be something you will like but it’s def not mine

atrocious. honestly wasted my money. i just read the book and was excited to find out the movie was currently out in cinemas. welp, the corny and cringy jokes and lines were so disappointing… like joss wheadon humour (but at least the avengers was revolutionary) and the relationship felt so rushed. like they’d be hating each other to suddenly being fully in love with each other and then she’d be mad at him in the span of like two weeks. the relationships between everyone also felt so fake. how did they cast a smiley and cringy josh? like choose someone who doesn’t show emotion 🙄 the most iconic scenes in the book were portrayed so badly. and the translation of lines from book to movie were horrendous, i was literally laughing from embarrassment for the movie and i refused to watch the corny scenes when they defend each other. the end credits literally look like a photo booth filter on some of the scenes from the movie, trying to look poppy and modern but ends up looking like a 10yos camera roll from 2014 on their ipad. the music was quite modern and it distracted me so much. didn’t rlly fit but whatever. although i liked hearing glitter by benee but like that’s the only good thing. nothing like i had imagined from the book, yeah my visualisations will be different but i did not just watch a “rom-com” with no humour and no real love. ugh. so disappointed 😔
