while most books would bring out the God in Achilles' nature and highlight his victories on the battlefield, the song of Achilles emphasizes his plain mortality. Embraces the way he loved and cared and lived. The writing makes your heart flutter and ache through out the book and everything about it really strikes you and makes you wonder what sort of a person Achilles really was. it explores the topic of love and personally really made me believe in it. I recommend this book to absolute softies looking for a tragic (and poetic) love story that will make you cry for two hours (and plus) straight after you're finished with it.
