The actual first movie written but not directed by the brilliant Quentin Tarentino, this masterpiece movie features a tremendously talented cast that quite literally could not have been better matched. Christian Slater does a great job as does Gary Oldman who's always great. I watch the movie two or three times before I even realized that it was Gary Oldman who is cast as drexl spivey, an unforgettable character that was a composite of people that Gary Oldman plays to perfection. Christopher Walken's scene opposite Dennis Hopper is absolutely riveting and one of the most memorable scenes in the history of Hollywood my opinion. Brad Pitt, Val kilmer, James gandolfini, Tom sizemore, and Samuel l Jackson have small but pivotal roles in this movie and it's ensemble cast is perfectly matched. Wonder a remarkable fact the casting is that several of the characters that were in the movie The King of New York starring Christopher Walken are in this movie. I assume that there is a tendency to cast people who are familiar with one another in order to make a film that doesn't create tension between actors.
