2019 off to a bad start…………I am most disgruntled I tend to be a precise person as a result of my lifelong career in engineering The thing that get me going is watching Engineering and Cookery programs wherein the presenter offers information which is patently incorrect. People watch these programs and soak up the information as being “fact” given that the presenter is deemed to be an authority in their field of endeavour and presumed to be well schooled on the subject of their presentation. People are therefore misinformed and are likely to believe and perpetuate that mis-information. My current pet hate is “Shepherd’s Pie” I am watching Rachel Koo making a vegetarian “Shepherd’s Pie” I have previously watched Pioneer Woman make a so-called “Shepherd’s Pie” with minced BEEF and offering the same mis-information. “Shepherd’s Pie” by definition is made with “LAMB” as in “tended by a Shepherd (Sheep Herd)” Other potatoes topped pies made with say BEEF and / or Vegetables do not carry the same restriction and are thus “Cottage Pies” Please will you pay due attention to the correctness of program content which as broadcaster you should surely take some responsibility for the content.
