Contains spoilers *** I watched this based on the good reviews and afterwards couldn’t believe so many people let me waste my time like that. The film is trying to achieve far too much and ultimately not doing enough. You’ve got a wife having an affair, people phrogging in houses, missing boys and murdering cop. The main storyline about missing boys gets pretty much completely abandoned apart from at the start and the end; so when it was “pieced together” it wasn’t fully explained or explored why that person kidnapped them at all. Not to mention that story wasn’t really related to the phrogging storyline either. The “twist” of the dad killing the lover didn’t make sense? He just walked into his house saw a stranger there and killed him immediately and then went back to work? The psycho frogger was so unlikeable and it also wasn’t explained how he knew about the father’s kidnapping. Just bad writing with added twists for the sake of it.

I was hooked from the first five minutes but it seemed to go downhill ever since. The sheriff is an awful husband, father and cop, and totally unlikeable. He spends more time at the bar, than well, anywhere else... and it takes the “flawed hero” concept to a level of pathetic most can’t empathise with. The character constantly make decisions that are just outright not believable. I lasted til episode 6.
