I keep watching this show hoping that it will become good. I loved the original Charmed and was hoping for something similar with better special effects.
Instead it feels like a poorly written virtue signaling soap box that doesnโt even make sense half the time.
Spoiler alert for the episode Witch Way Out in season three that prompted this review.
I canโt stand that Mel is constantly so proud of herself for doing horrible things to other people that she thinks is justified because itโs for the โright reasonsโ.
She just got her boss suspended because she setup an audit of Melโs class without giving Mel a warning. Was this probably petty on her bossโ part. Most likely. Could Mel have just submitted a request to get the book she wanted added to the syllabus for next year and used the outdated book this year but told the students which parts were outdated? Definitely.
So my question is, why is the show acting like the Dean committed some sort of hate crime that Mel vanquished? Procedures like approving books on a syllabus are in place to make sure that harmful or wrong materials donโt get taught to students but Mel has zero understanding of that for some reason. Itโs annoying because she could be an intelligent, strong female character but instead sheโs angry and aggressive. Then the episode ends with Macy (who is those things), aggressively following Melโs lead!
