Early Access Review
I’ve reached the point where I’m completely done with Path of Exile 2. Zalmarath the Colossus, one of the major bosses in the game, is an absolute nightmare. I’ve tried everything—strategies, builds, patience—but nothing seems to work. It feels like no matter what I do, I can’t deal any significant damage to him. The bug seems to prevent me from actually making any progress, and even when I do land a hit, it barely registers. Not to mention, he has so much health that it's just absurd. The fight drags on forever, and it’s honestly infuriating at this point.
I get that Path of Exile 2 is supposed to be challenging, but there’s a fine line between challenge and frustration. Right now, the game crosses into territory where it feels more like a chore than an enjoyable experience. I can deal with tough bosses, but the constant bugs, the overwhelming difficulty, and the overall unpleasantness of the gameplay just don’t make it fun anymore.
The worst part? It’s not just Zalmarath—boss fights in general are more of an annoyance than a challenge. The sense of progression feels nonexistent, and it’s just grind after grind with no real sense of reward. I’ve given this game more than enough chances to impress me, but at this point, I can confidently say I’m done. This was my first time playing a Path of Exile game, and I don’t think I’ll ever return to it. It’s turned me off to the entire series, and I won’t be spending another penny on this game in the future.
Yes, the graphics and enemy designs are decent, but when a game’s technical issues and its overall boring nature overshadow any visual appeal, it’s hard to recommend. The bugs alone are enough to ruin what could have been an enjoyable experience. When Path of Exile 2 goes free-to-play, I’d advise against spending any money on it—there’s simply not enough polish or quality here to justify the investment.
If you want to waste your time and life playing garbage this is the game for you.
