Children 6 and under may not catch the subtleties and grander lessons of this show, and instead see mostly the (awesome!) elemental fighting scenes, but this show has something for everyone.
With plucky humor and bad puns, memorable, relatable, flawed, dynamic and lovable characters, this show portrays strained parental relations, (eludes to) mass genocide, war, poverty, refugees and the destruction thereof while the main characters learn about meditation, self discipline, shame, pride, martial arts, violence, friendship, love, honesty and bravery.
I am re-watching this show for third time with my now- eight year old and it serves as a launching point for important discussions.
This show is truly amazing.
Never, under any circumstances, watch the live-action flick.
