We have been hooked since Series 1 when it was originally shown on BBC2. We absolutely loved the authenticity and the history which had been adhered to. We were also interested because Uhtred comes from Northumbria, which is our home county.
Uhtred is a fictional character, but rest of the story is more or less true historically. If you like your blood and guts but with a story and real history thrown in, then you will love this series.
