If there is a story, that has kept you away from the real world for way too long, you develop a craving for things to go back to normal. That is exactly what the franchise did. The first three films build up the entire scenario so intensely, that it was becoming almost hectic for us to digest everything that is going on with the universe full of Eva's and angles. But then came 3.0+1.0. the whole tonal shift of the film after the previous act, calms us down and gently gives us a seat before we start to lose our mind. Keeping aside all the long, seemingly boring and confusing Eva battles, the ending of the film is what I liked the most. The whole meta way of showing the story, going into the psyche of the characters, but most importantly of Gendou's which really needed an explanation. That felt like a perfect closure to everything. And then, when the things became normal, it's that when I felt the soothing vibe. The song 'One Last Kiss' had to add just a little bit of completeness to the film that made me almost fall flat on my bed, feeling absolutely satisfied.
