Chris Watered Down BBQ

The movie is shot well enough. Thats where the good stuff ends. The characters are not fleshed out. It feels like a movie of filler scenes with a dialogue thats only there to tell you the bare minimum of what’s going on. Its not action packed. Its not suspenseful. It fails to deliver on emotional response from the audience. In a audience of 6 people 2 walked out before the end. It’s not good as a movie.

Infinitely re watchable and I dare say worth the dvd by. Its a movie you can watch with kids, grand parents, preacher and your drinking buddy. The movie follows a boy who’s family is dysfunctional to say the least. A son of a single mother who’s a selfish a character as any character. He’s dropped off at his retired uncles house in the midwest. They don’t want him but are honorable men and relent. They are men who believe respect is earned and the boys good nature and toughness win them over. These men are ex foreign legion and this movie has a subplot that adds a bit of action to what’s really a family drama. Over time the boy convinces the men to spend they're fortune because at the very least they can tick off they’re money hungry family. And we see this happen. Set in the 50’s or 60’s it has the vibe I really enjoy in movies. The acting is great, the scrip is clean and the pace is good. If you’re a Sandlot fan then you’ll enjoy this movie and if like me, you’ll enjoy it more!

Its a movie you have to watch. Another classic from Nolan. It moves a bit slow at first to lay the groundwork but once it gets going its all thriller no filler. I fully expected training scenes and strong women cliches. But no. It captures people how you’d imagine them to act in such situations. Strangely beautiful and sad all together. Like many Nolan movies it spurs you into talking about it long after the credits roll. There’s such a battle of decisions where no decision is ever really right. The acting by Matthew McConaughey really carries this movie. The space odyssey is perfection. It’s original for sure and that maybe what draws me to it. In a world of rehashed plots this one keeps you guessing.

I suppose a touching movie but very formulaic. Grumpy old man finds love and meaning through interactions with his new neighbors. Think St. Vincent or as good as it gets or Up. Slow moving and rarely funny. The neighborhood is filled with characters who would drive you to suicide. Which is what he plans to do a good portion of the movie. He’s such a curmudgeon that he puts off suicide to stop neighborhood rules from being broken. Rules no one but his wheelchair bound neighbor who he has a strained relationship with. Why? They don't agree on car brands. Tom Hanks star power almost works against it’s independent vibe. He’s too likable in real life that his character just seems like Tom Hanks is in a bad mood for 2 hours. If you like sappy movies you may like this one. But you’ll not miss anything by checking your phone or using the restroom while the movie plays on unpaused.

Dope as soap on a road. If it was the first iteration it would have been Matrix lvl.

Almost unwatchable. Many parts in this movie are just thrown in and drawn out. Funny parts only arrive because you can’t believe how dumb it’s getting.
