This movie focuses more on the humanistic side of the French people who wanted to help the Jews without risking anyone's life, including the German garrison occupying their village. I feel like there were more people in the village than the Germans occupying it. Thus, everyone could have taken the invaders, but as I have said, the French villagers were not interested in killing anyone, even the German invaders.

Despite the plot twist toward the end of the story, I was hoping they all survived to live the rest of their lives safe in each other's hands. It is such a shame when Nazi members prefer to stand on their beliefs rather than choose their families.
