I had to read this book for my Ap Lang class and I can say by far I did a good decision picking this book to read. I came with only a small amount of knowledge on the Manson’s murder and his case. First of all, I can say Tom O’Neill did a fantastic job on keeping everything single chapter intriguing and entertaining. I am also astonished how Tom manage to research on the Manson’s case for over 20 years and be able to describe his journey in detail. His character building is also amazing as he makes sure to describe and give depth into every main character such as the prosecutors and the Manson’s family. I also appreciate how honest he can be as he makes sure to show us every single piece of information and doesn’t hold back how he feels even if he disagrees at some points. One thing I truly loved about the book is how it shows another part of the sixties especially corruption in the LAPD and the use of psychology warfare. If your into crime cases or murder cases definitely pick up this book you won’t regret it. It’s about 500 pages but it is really good and can keep you intrigued from start to end. The book talks for it selfs and honestly it shows how hard working Tom is since he decided to wait until he finalized his research and took his time in order to convey his story.
