Having read the book and not entirely enjoying it, it was a big surprise to find the film much better, especially as critics were so damning. Most of the actors were well cast. I thought Nichole Kidman a bit wooden, which was a surprise, as she is usually well cast. I hope the critics donโt keep the cinema goers away.
