This show is very strong independent woman lead. Very good optics from the main characters to the beautiful scenery. The pacing and build of the storyline is perfect, BUT. The greatest antagonist of this beautiful premise is the damsel in distress love story intertwined within. Oh lawd!! PLEASE can Mel have something go wrong without Jacks Bronco being parked in just the perfect vicinity for her to always hop in shotgun style and be wisked off to greener pastures. And for Jack to be in a perfect position to be able to not even have to make a choice about either the baby and baby momma or Mel, nope! He gets em all. The writing falls a little flat in that aspect where it seems like the pacing is just wrote in an its just a matter of time type of way. They could have wrote in another character who had the hots for Mel and maybe she slept with them after she found out about the pregnancy instead of leaving and going back home for two weeks only to come back early etc.. or something to give it more spice. But other than the Mel and Jack needing some added dimensions to their love story the rest of the show is perfect for 3 and a half stars out of 5
