The one SF book that I am more than happy to revisit from time to time. There's just 'something' that draws me back to it. I don't read Messiah and Children as much, but they do get a re-read ever so often.
Dune is a dangerous wasteland of a planet. Dune, the book, is full of ideas and great descriptions. It is another 'Hero's Tale' - young boy grows to power, but then you throw in the prescience aspect and the scheming going in the the background, and it really gets interesting. It feels a little sub-Shakespearean in its sweep. It's maybe not for everyone, but I am a fervent fan. Give it a try - I went into the book blind 30 odd years ago knowing nothing about the story at all, a d was instantly hooked.
