S1 - ok! formulaic, but ok!
S2 - nice!
S3 - a stinking pot of filler. things in S4 should have been in S3.
S4 - keeping expectations really low. can I see the ending already?
This probably won't make a difference, since the people reviewing here are clearly representative of the demographic.
Terrible writing, wasted potential, weak messages, tons of inconsistency, unnecessary elements added, lacking development, even for a kids show. Go watch any review on youtube. Even mlp is better than this.
Example: duh, spoilers
Why introduce unification?
All it does is give new costumes. It makes no difference to just take off one miraculous for another. Only big difference is for the main duo's miraculous, who should have kept the keyword a secret so hawkie can't use the wish even if he gets them both.
Why introduce Chloe's development?
We get to see numerous situations between Chloe and her family, Adrien and generally growing as a person. All to go down the drain, useless development. Heard someone in the production team was against their redemption. Zoe, her literal replacement, out of nowhere, is very flat. (almost all characters, really)
Why do Lila and Felix barely appear?
At least with Lila, she was shown to have some epic battle with Marinette but especially rarely appeared in S4. Her lies are hilariously unbelievable that it makes the people of that city seem incompetent.
Why bother introducing the temple guardians?
With so much potential support, why haven't they bothered to find Hawk moth's true identity? Why rely on 2 teenagers to handle the possibility of the end of the world? Su-han only makes brief appearances that it is so disappointing.
Why Marinette trusts her classmates so easily with the miraculous?
It has been stated that teens have a harder time than adults with them because the miraculous drains their energy quicker or something. Why not trust her parents, the probably best parents in their world? Why choose hormonal teenagers busy with school? The classmates, aside from their stereotypical personality, have little development and a distinctive trait of being good. They might as well be one character. Kids in the series are portrayed as angels compared to adults... Why is Nino so bland in S3, only developed in S4?
Why break up the side ships so quickly?
In "Truth" & "Lies", we barely got to saw the ships develop. (which I am not interested in either, but...) It was so quick: got together in S3 finale or somewhere around that time and broke up early S4. Is this why fan-fiction is better than the show itself?
This is just a fraction of the inconsistencies. So many plots, so little development and planning. I can't believe people are satisfied with this show when two of the top reviews here have copy pasted the beginning.
p.s. Where is Zak-storm S2? Working on so many projects that the creators can't even finish that? He's going to be stuck in the Bermuda for eternity at this point.
