A beautiful film, but you have to accept the Japanese style of acting. Call me uncultured, but too many scenes between the Lord and the Fool drag. Again the Japanese over emotive acting is...an aquire taste.
(And when you've seen one man fall from a horse, you don't need to see it 20 more times.
But... I sat through it for over 3 hours and enjoyed it immensely. But it ain't perfect!
