There were some things I appreciated about this show - the chefs. Their backgrounds, their stories, and why they were so passionate to cook. I appreciated the cultural diversity of the world culinary journey. I appreciated the fantastic food that was created and how it was created.
That being said - I was extremely disappointed with the American bias as other reviewers have mentioned. The US episode was almost intolerable to watch. It was clear it is an American show. The fact that the American won the show...I won’t even touch that, it was a letdown. Not that the American was bad by any means, but that there was so much more talent demonstrated by the other three chefs, particularly in the final dishes prepared.
I was disappointed there were not more female chefs represented in the contestants. 4/24 is absolutely unacceptable. I did appreciate the wonderful female chefs represented at the Final Table, but still only 3/9.
Overall - great concept for the show, but poorly executed in a noticeably biased way.
