This game is just as affecting as the first, if not more so. I cannot believe anyone is giving this a bad review. I will say, if you're looking for a similar experience to the first as far as storyline goes, this is not it. The first game is so amazing because of the connection you make to ellie and the transformation you experience along with Joel. You feel that connection grow and evolve in real time. In alot of ways, it's a story of growth, and how you can find something in life that makes you want to keep going in times of loss and adversity. Joel gains something in ellie, and ellie in Joel. In part two, without spoiling much, those feelings of gain are replaced with the overwhelming sensation of loss. It reflects the hate and resentment we hold for others when those connections are taken away. It batters you, and allows that hate to fester in you symbiotically with the characters. And yet, there is still growth. There is within both main characters, who are both protagonists, and antagonists, a change that takes place. A connection is built in a much more complicated and intricate way than in part one. Nothing will go the way that you wish it would.....unless, if youre like me, what you wish for changes along with the characters by the end of the story. Its brilliant. One of the best games I've ever played, same as the first. Play it
