I just wanna start by saying... It's lame.

A movie written and directed by Sam Levinson. It is a pure drama based on dysfunctional couple played by Zendaya and Zohn David Washington. The decision to film it in black and white gives the movie a true timeless feel and managed to eliminate all the distraction from the shot, leaving the focus only on acting. This movie highlights the true capabilities of its actors, proving there past performances in movies like Spider-Man and Tenet as, "MEDIOCRE". The plot line is rather simple about a couple fighting overnight about little things they don't feel important enough to consider, which piles up and burst into heated conversation and fights throughout the movie. What makes the movie so unique and engaging is its script and breathtaking performances. Music continuously playing in the background in most of the scene added depth to each moment and help intensify the emotions throughout the movie.

A movie with strong cast and each delivering there part with great acting performance, especially the less known actors. But, unfortunately the storyline didn't had to offer anything new that a viewer in India wasn't aware of but the director still brilliantly managed to add some peak points which forces the viewers to have second thoughts about the society and bring tears to eyes. Plot was somewhat similar to movies like Parasite and Slumdog millionaire. With a screen time of 2hr7min, the movie could have been much more impacting if the focus was put on the main plot of the movie rather than getting distracted by issues which could have been slipped in between lines without giving so much of screen time. Beginning of the movie was strong enough to get attention of the viewers with smooth character building taking sweet amount of screentime. Ending was rushed in the last 10 min of the movie which disconnects the viewers from the hold that the movie had till the interval. There were some shots in the movie which were so impacting to bring tears to the viewers eyes and show the depth of the moment but were faded because of the background narration.

One of the best drama. So simple yet so moving. Perfect cast, and strong dialogue delivery and performance. One of the few jewels of Bollywood.

Never in my life have I ever been betrayed by imdb ratings. Should have been 2.7 instead of 7.2. Bad character development. Lazy dialogues, silly script.
