I loved these books when I was a teen, so I was hoping for a great movie adaptation, but this wasn't it. Everything was glossed over so quickly, that it just didn't have the same charm as the book. The CGI was really odd in some parts too.

This was an interesting movie, but soooo unrealistic. The acting was pretty good, but I hated the ending. Without trying to spoil anything, the end was way too gory for a PG-13 movie. Plus, that ending "twist" has been played out too much for it to really be a surprise at this point.

I was really really looking forward to this movie! It honestly fell a little flat for me. I think what made the first one so amazing was the suspense factor. You could never tell if a monster would appear or not. The suspense of her about to go in labor, stepping on a nail, etc. In this one, I could always tell when a monster would appear. I did really appreciate the back story of Day 1, and the excitement from it. The marina scene seemed odd and out of place. Overall, there a few jump scares and a couple suspenseful scenes. It just wasn't as scary as the first movie.
