Though you may not agree with the execution of Naughty Dog's latest offering, there is no denying The Last of Us Part II will go down as groundbreaking. It's obvious that the mass review bombing has less to do with the merits of this game and is more politically motivated. As a rule of thumb, the second installment to a wildly successful movie or game rarely lives up to the hype created by the first installment. Characters grow older. Plots change. People change. We, the benefactors of the gaming artform, have no tolerance for change. The Last of Us II challenges storytelling in video gaming and elevates it. It is a story of love and soul consuming, unrepentant hatred. I thoroughly enjoyed the rollercoaster thrills delivered in this story and would recommend this game to all.
