This game is amazing. It does an excellent job of scaling difficulty as you progress. It’s a metroidvania style game that doesn’t lock you into a single route. It has challenging bosses, some to beat just for the sense of accomplishment, others to defeat to advance farther, others who test your ability to use a newfound item. There’s a lot of lore behind the story, for those who like the storytelling aspect of games, and there’s tons of content to explore! I’ve gotten my main save to 110% completion, and I’m still not done. And for those who want an extra challenge, there’s a permadeath mode, which you unlock after beating the game for the first time. There are so many reasons why this game is such a success, but I think the biggest reason is the fact that it doesn’t appeal to just one audience. It appeals to those who enjoy the story aspect of a game, those who want a challenge, those who love to explore a huge open map, and, of course, fans of metroidvania style games.
