I am gonna hold off writing a review for now. I watched about 20 minutes and it just didn't hook me, maybe because one of my favorite actors, Clark Peters, hadn't shown up. I'll give it another shot. Couple facts, the "Apocalypse Now" Bar in Saigon exists, it is a tourist bar. Second, if a plane with gold had went down in the Nam, that would have been a recovery mission for specialized troops, eq Navy Seals or Army Rangers, not regular infantry troops. Third, although I am friends now with many of those I consider "brothers" there was tremendous tension between black troops and white troops in the rear. Of course, in hot missions you all look out for each other. We never mixed in groups, even with one of my best friends, a Black dude from Chicago (who taught me a LOT about music) if he had black friends visiting he didn't know me. I'll follow this review up after viewing the entire film.
