Chris Noth in my opinion is too good for this show. It’s so tongue in cheek that I can’t take it seriously. The show is not sure whether it’s supposed to be a serious show or comedy- neither genre hit the mark for me. The original show with Edward Woodward was definitely a serious show. Sean Bean is good as always and Stephen Graham is Stephen Graham - he always plays the same part. Having seen the US prison series Oz where there are real wall to wall nutters - this drama feels more pedestrian. It’s very slow
