It caught me by surprise. I remember at lightbox seeing how the production team went to China and study the culture, meeting with locals and more and it really came through. It felt natural and even though the 1st half seemed a bit predictable, it had me by the time we heard Gobi's song. That rocked me in a way I didn't expect and its a really special scene from a character you don't expect it from. The emotional pull is there, the love and care is there, and the art and animation are beautiful. The imagery is so enthralling whether is colorful and bright, or dark and gloomy. A very heartwarming film that I think brightens a very hard year.
