TL;DR - It's giant monsters fighting...and I loved it.
The film is perfect, and flawed, at the same time.
It's a contradictory statement, but for me it all comes down to the premise. This is not (and it never set itself up to be) a taut thriller with in-depth character development, and more plot twists than an Inception sequel.
It's Godzilla Vs Kong, a monster mash between two epic titans that fans have been waiting to be realised for years. And in that regard, it 100% hits its mark.
The action is (obviously CGI but) beautiful and coherent. It's not too dark, or full of shaky cam, and the climax resolves the action in a satisfying way.
Yeah, okay, the overarching theme of the movie has some plot holes, and the dialogue between the humans is full of stupid jokes and lame clichรฉs...but who cares. If you came for something other than the action, then you're watching the wrong film
