I loved the original matrix movies (especially the first two). The Wachovski brothers Introduced a rare movie with a great plot that opened up strengths and weaknesses of each character. The struggle of mankind, love story with Trinity and the back and forth struggle between Neo/Smith was awesome. I am not a fan of this latest movie. It did shed some light on what happened to Neo after Revolutions. But I don’t feel it offered anything else. There weren’t any new characters, the previous movie flashbacks offered no value, there was no explanation on why the robots sided with humans and for what reason. The fight scenes were extremely subpar. Nothing over the top like what put the Matrix movies in a class of its own. The Merovingian/Frenchman bouncing around was low budge and pointless. At best, the movie had three of four great special effects scenes. I’m trying not to give away spoilers but people wouldnt watch this movie unless they watched the first 3. With that in mind…I did not like how Neos character was stripped of virtually all the abilities we watched him develop over the first 3 movies. What was the reason? Why can trinity fly now? There’s no explanation. If she is the new “neo” then she should have been the primary lead in the movie. Thumbs down and a waste of 2.5 hours.
