ABSOLUTELY NO SUBSTANCE TO THIS FILM WHAT SO EVER. From a young age I have loved romance, the clichés, the unique, the unbelievable, the sad. THIS movie is the absolute worst movie I have ever watched in my entire life. Deriving from one of the best books I have ever read in my life, it is SUCH a shame to see the movie twist and throw away the whole meaning to the relationship. There is absolutely 0 narrative, 0 entertainment and unbelievably still states that it has anything to do with the book- in which case, the directors would be lying to themselves, if it wasn’t for the character names and narrative arch (which even then is questionable). A romance must have the audience on the edge of their seat, begging for the characters to collide or fall in the end. This movie from the very beginning left the foundation behind. The acting (probably down to the script) is absolutely terrible. You don’t route for the characters at all. You cannot understand their relationship if you don’t provide the audience with REASON!!! The movie makes you question how ridiculous and crazy Tessa is, as every emotion she feels has NO substance. The relationship falls VERY short of the passion, hatred and love throughout the whole film. Terrible depiction of one of the best novels ever written.
