This revival was trying to make Gilmore girls something itโs not. Watching the original series, all 7 seasons, it was such a comfort show. It made you laugh, cry, and relate to the characters and it was just really well done. Of course theyโd make a revival to follow upโฆ
None of the characters changed in the slightest! Sure of course, Rory had issues following up to journalism because itโs not the easiest industry, however she has affairs with Logan whoโs engaged to someone else (youโd think sheโs learnt her lesson a dean), has some boyfriend that no one remembers like what was the point of that, and just lives no where. For a graduate of an Ivy League school itโs just nothing. She even had an affair with a Wookiee because of course they added that in?
Lorelei still makes dumb jokes with her mom and canโt think of a nice story of her dad who passed away because she was โon the spotโ. Her and Luke didnโt even think of having kids or getting married and he has the audacity to say โI just went along with what u wanted because u said soโ LIKE UR HER PARTNER DONT BLAME HER FOR THAT. and then they get married after because of course they did? Everyone fights over the same thing and talks the same way they did after 10 years. Also April smokes pot? That was just a dumb thing to add in for no reason
The musical was just awful and maybe just *maybe* one act would be nice, but no they added 5 or 6 terrible numbers to be โfunnyโ. Gilmore girls was a funny show, but it was never labeled as a comedy which is what Gilmore girls a year in the life seemed to think it was. What sucks is that these are the same writers who wrote the original series but canโt come up with anything loveable, remotely humourous or interesting.
If you loved the original series, save your time on watching this disaster of a revival
