Not really going to go on the same rant as these people who are clearly racist and pretending that they are not lol. I could care less about the skin colors of the actors or anyone else of that nature for that matter. I am going to talk about how they completely dishonored the soul of this book. I love Julia Quinn lets face it the woman can write and well. (Just ignore the last book she published that was a money grab) However they added characters that are not in the book. They completely rewrote the character of MAIN characters. Antony is a very noble man with roguish tendecies. How did he turn into such a creep in this series? He always looked out for the best interest of his family at all cost. Daphne ... that was a horrible choice of actress and those bangs sucked. Daphne is a fun girl, wouldn't know it by the series portrayal. VIOLET ... THAT WAS A TERRIBLE VIOLET. VIOLET IS A VERY STRONG MOTHER, THIS VIOLET WAS A WHINER Violet never ask permission only forgiveness.Benedict who is my crush in the book series is somehow playing around with complete character tranformation... the only thing that is the same about him is his name. He isnt very handsome either. He is the one with the most likeable demeener in this show. Which is what Cullens charcter was supposed to be. Cullen would never jump to an attachment Cullen has wanderlust this made him look like a runner who was running away. He was also too heavy in an emotional way. Cullen was very carefree in the book. Lady Danbery was way too friendly. She did not stomp anyones feet with her cane... wasted opportunity. Simon was very handsome but he should have said less he was terrible at his accent. I mean terrible but he was good at the more racy scenes. Daphne and Simon did not do enough development in there realationship it seemed very lustful with no depth what- so -ever. Julia spends a great deal of time developing character connections. She does it well but that was not portrayed in this series. Sadly its easier to see the picture in the book than it is right in front of you on the screen. The queen is a stupid character but she sort of saved the day in a lot of the series. I am fearful that if she was not there this would have sucked completely. She is the glue of the ton. they did a good job with the other characters like the Featheringtons; they did a great job. I really enjoyed it, was just a bit disappointing but im glad it was made into a show.
