Beautiful game world, but painfully boring and oddly restrictive for a Rockstar open world game. Game mechanics are clunky, gun fights are easy, money basically doesn't matter, mini games are pointless, side quests/random encounters do not matter. For dozens of hours, I kept thinking "OK, now we're about to get to the good stuff. Now we're done with the prologue and this game is going to really open up and become the exciting, fun, free-spirited Rockstar western I've been waiting for." The good stuff never came. If it is meant to be meditative and an exercise in boring, mundane realism, it probably works, if you're into that sort of thing. Important side note: The online mode is still absurdly disappointing as well after being released a year ago. Please lord, let there be a glorious Grand Theft Auto 6 wrapping up production.
