This is a completely average movie. I don’t think I have ever ran into a more average movie. There’s no new ground being broken here. It’s just another comedy about family and it is a little funny, but not hilarious. It’s hard to say anything definite about this movie.

No where near as good as the original, but bringing back Jafar is enough to spark an ounce of interest. He is still such a great villain. A him being a genie does seem to raise the stakes from the original which is what a good sequel needs to do. But everything else is pretty bad. Aladdin and Jasmine both seem to suddenly be in a very dysfunctional relationship full of lies. Not exactly great role models. And did they really have to give half the songs to Iago? Really?

Of the three animated Aladdin films, this has to be the worst. They turned all the characters into very bland imitations. They even got Robin Williams!!! Why, Disney? Why!?!?! But for most of the film, there was a supreme lack of stakes. There was never a point where I was worried for any character in the slightest.

It’s good…for a Disney remake. Which is not great. The original is such a classic and there were so many different routes they could have gone down to make this it’s own distinct movie versus a shot for shot remake. But it does retell the story well enough. The only changes they made only made the movie worse. Like Jafar! They turned a terrifying, menacing villain into a soft-mouthed pansy. I was honestly more intimidated by his parrot. There is one aspect where the 2019 remake one-ups the original. That’s Jasmine. Naomi Scott is amazing and they give the character so much more personality and her song (which doesn’t really fit in with the others) is very good. But that’s not enough to save this remake.

A fantastic family film. There are definitely some…well…awkward stereotypes, but it’s nothing out of the ordinary for 90’s Disney…unfortunately. But the rest of this film is great! I could listen to the songs all day as they probably the best part. Friend Like Me is such a party! While the Genie can be a bit over the top and most of his references will go right over kid’s heads, he’s still hilarious. Robin Williams brings such life to the character. And the villain! Oh the villain! Jafar is one of Disney’s best because he is so despicable. He’s a villain everyone loves to hate and that’s what a real villain should be. Aladdin himself is good, if maybe a little bland, same goes for Jasmine. But those are tiny nitpicks compared to the pure joy that this film brings out.

A great Disney classic that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Goofy and Max’s relationship is one of the best father-son connections to ever be on a screen. But I still need to know…did Goofy actually kill that mime???

A great show that was canceled far too early. It’s an awesome continuation of many of the characters from First Avenger. The plots are tense and the action is surprisingly good. I also found myself invested in all the characters. But I think the real power behind this show in Peggy Carter herself. She has such a charming personality. She can punch out any thug and still look beautiful doing it. Her chemistry with Jarvis is one of the best parts of the show. It’s rare to find such a great male-female relationship that’s not romantic but Agent Carter pulled it off. This show should not have been canceled so early!

While not a long movie, this felt like it lasted forever. I’ve liked many of National Geographic’s documentaries, but Disney does not seem to have the formula down yet.

If you’re trying to find something good for a kid to watch, there’s nothing wrong with Adventures in Babysitting. But there is definitely better things a kid can watch.

It’s hard to go wrong with a classic story like A Christmas Carol, but this movie comes close. Jim Carrey gives a good performance as Scrooge, but there’s nothing spectacular. Beyond that, the animation is very off-putting. It’s downright uncomfortable. It may have been revolutionary at the time, but it certainly has not aged well. The tone also confuses me as many of the comedic and tense, scary moments seem to conflict with each other. Overall, not a bad movie. It is still A Christmas Carol, but it’s definitely a weaker adaptation.
