Disappointing on many levels. Plot is muddy as the town square really, the roles of the women highly over emphasized, historic inaccuracy all over the place. Editing of the story lines has no suspense and some of the lines are just hard to follow. It was obvious that a new lighting crew was hired by Episode 6, you could suddenly see faces in the interior scenes!
The costumes are horrible and badly researched. The idea that some people had modern sized wardrobes and that all that brocade was cleanable is ridiculous. Characters are simultaneously dressed for Summer and Winter in one scene. A lady wearing a train in the mud was unheard of. Also, lack of caps on the ladies and all that long free flowing CLEAN washed hair is a fantasy.
I found the lack of pregnancy and children in the show in general really conspicuous as well.
Lady Temperance Flowerdew Yeardley West is my 12th great grandmother so reading up on her now, this depiction just doesn't seem right.
