I must admit, I watched this movie already well-aware of the negative reviews, making my experience a bit biased. Nevertheless, I completely understand the critics and their problems with the film. Not only was the acting sometimes bad, but the plot was horribly unrealistic. The movie depicted teenagers relentlessly teasing Jodi and making comments like, ‘how’s the weather up there?’ countless times in a manner not meant to be taken ironically. This movie is severely out of touch with how teenagers communicate, and therefore makes it slightly amusing (not in a good way).
