I watched all 7 seasons and the year in the life for the last month while quarantined because of Covid-19. It was nice to be distracted life in Stars Hollow and the charming and funny characters, Lorelai, Rory, Luke, Sookie, Lane....However I was so disappointed in the Year in the life. It was weird. It had some parts that were like a musical and lots of stupid plot points that had nothing to do with anything (like the musical that was almost a half hour straight)...after all of the seasons of waiting for Luke and Lorelai to be together, the year in the life ends with a weird pseudo musical wedding the night before their actual wedding! So dumb! Lane had more of a wedding episode in the original episodes! Very disappointed in that since that was a long standing plot over the 7 Seasons. They wasted so much in the year in the life. Could have been about the wedding and Rorys pregnancy, not a last second reveal that she’s pregnant and that’s it/ curtain. The highlights were, the establishment of the book-Gilmore Girls, the memories of Richard, Emily’s character development and seeing all the characters again. Final review: Disappointing all around.
