Possibly the worst film I’ve ever experienced – and I only got 25 minutes in. There is so much hysterical screaming. It’s just horrible on every level.

The writing is so so good. I binge watched the first two series back to back. The drama has me gripped because it’s quite procedural, a bit like Line of Duty but the characters are complex and spiky and unlike anything you’ve seen before. In the first season, the female protagonist is just so watchable, I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. In the second series, not only is Michael Socha just incredible but the dialogue between the Solicitor and his teenage son, as well as the CPS lawyer and her difficult relationship with her sister was just so well written I was holding my breath because it felt so real. There’s only Abi Morgan who I can think can write this well. More please.

Yawn. This is car crash bad, sorry- train crash bad. The acting is laughable. Apart from Joe Cole, nobody else seems to be able to act. We’re actually playing a drinking game of who the worst is – my vote is on the female train worker. The script is clunky and ridiculous and needed an experienced script editor. Also despite the premise, the first episode is extremely boring. You can’t just plaster some suspenseful music over a lack of story arc. You need to earn the thrills. It’s utterly dull and we’ve given up on it after ep 2. Go and rewatch Bodyguard instead. Embarrassing for the BBC. I hope serious meetings are being had at the BBC about why this ever got green lit!

Thank you Netflix for finally giving me a reason to cancel. The Perfect Couple is so so terrible. Why do people keep casting Nicole Kidman whose face doesn’t even move because of all the Botox? I couldn’t make it past the halfway point of episode two. Cringe. Super tacky like everything on Netflix these days.

Boring. Just so hard to stay interested.

There’s some people in these reviews with perhaps too much time on their hands. It wasn’t that bad. I thought Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen gave incredible performances. The cinematography is beautiful. It’s just that patches of the storyline are totally far-fetched and implausible. I also don’t understand why some characters were created to then have no arc. I’m thinking specifically Bonnie and Olivia’s mum, played by the fantastic Claire Rushbrooke. I thought at least one would to have a pivotal role in bringing it to a conclusion. But nothing. (Spoiler)- one of the silliest bits is how the police can be so sure that Cara was murdered. There’s literally no evidence. It wouldn’t stand up in court at all. I don’t understand why the original writer/screenwriter didn’t write to a scenario that might have allowed more legal ambiguity. Also, the very last scene with the hiker was very very daft. Coleman did her best with one of the worst parts of the script.

Can’t decide what its storyline is or who the ghost is or what the audience should be thinking. And at 3 hours long, it can’t decide when to end either.

I assume hardly any disability organisations were consulted on this film. The movie fetishises a young woman’s disability, using it to exploit reactions out of audiences e.g when she loses her wheelchair. At the end, there’s a ridiculous scene of this paralysed woman ‘overcoming’ her disability to walk for the first time, set to emotional music. I can’t believe that this was approved in 2021, further cementing the idea that people with disabilities are there to be pitted or fetishised once they’ve been ‘cured’.
