Standing at almost 2 and a half hours, the film definitely felt longer, but in a good way. Having to compete with the backlash and lack of driven story in The Last Jedi, The Rise of Skywalker had a lot to achieve. The plot, somewhat a distant and abrupt direction but one that pulled a lot out of the bag.
Nostalgia and a huge dissension from the backlash the first two received for being a mere remake of the originals, this story is unique in all the ways that it should have been, something which could easily have overwritten The Last Jedi.
Whether it panders to fan-service, i somewhat disagree aside from a minor adage at the end of the film, the sole place i feel the film fell down as the main antagonist fell short of being truly as threatening as they should have been.
Acting was great and all the new characters were immediately likeable, particularly D-O whom i thought i would hate. It was good to have C3P0 back in the fold as the cutesy comic relief character, and all in all this is one film that i would watch again.
If you were looking for an end to the Skywalker saga, The Force Is Strong with this one.
