The show deviates from the books way too much. I'm not a fan of Percy and Annabeth's casting, based on appearance and the difference in character tbh. Percy is meant to be a little annoying kid who's both really confused but also genuinely pure hearted. Percy in the show is kinda mad all the time omg. He has a much darker vibe, and Annabeth is just not giving. She's supposed to be this vulnerable kid who maybe is a little mean and off-putting, but she has little screentime and she's really just being way too serious (similar to Percy). Whyyyyy be different to the books? I thought Rick would do a better job, but they're just being different to get to the same point. Live actions truly hate the Percy Jackson world lol. The storylines are missing what makes them special (bits of humor that really shows the unseriousness of it all) and idc what anyone says, the casting should've been book accurate. We've wanted an age accurate, raven haired and blonde Annabeth for 20 years, and I'm genuinely so disappointed in Rick. Then again, he's known for literally always making mistakes in his own books, forget the show.
