Okay lets see. I started playing fifa seriously from 09 on PS2. Career mode was the deal back then. Have been a huge football fanatic since childhood. Anyone who has played more than a decade of fifa knows that the current installment of the game is probably one of the best ever released. My favourite till now was 17 as it seemed perfect. But i just might push towards 22 as I have played enough to form a solid opinion due to EA's Early Access feature.
So what went wrong after 17. Fifa forgot to put a thing called defending in the game. How often in reality do we see people gliding past defenders? Answer is not a lot. Getting past is much tougher in reality. Last 4 versions 18, 19, 20 and 21 had every attacking player beating defenders left right centre along with horrible defense allignment. 22 for god's sake has got the defense back and the game is I have to say a welcome relief and definitely moving towards realism.
For the people who are saying it's too tough to create chances and score, that's how real football is. Stop cribbing. The keeper was a little too op, but the recent updates have tried to tackle that as well.
Please EA take 22 as foundation and build on it. There is definitely apprehension in the midst as you guys managed to botch up four versions after releasing a beauty like FIFA 17.
I am pretty positive all the veteran players are in absolute awe of the game.
