I was in the mood for another rom-com starring Emma Roberts after watching Holidate the other day. The trailer looked cute, and I knew it would have classic clichรฉs you see in every type of these movies. But thatโs just a guilty pleasure of mine. I feel the movie tried to be inclusive, but ultimately ended up falling in to stereotypes that were most likely unintentionally offensive. And there were random subplots that didnโt make sense/I felt werenโt needed. Like the cheating on his blonde rich girlfriend with Nikki, I didnโt really understand that part. And the double forbidden love, I was fine with until the grandmother announced she was pregnant at the end. Like whyyyy, that ruined the double love story part for me. Most elders are infertile by that age. And I feel the family feud shouldโve been more dramatic instead of over a pizza name. Over all the movie was quite enjoyable.
