It would be more credible if people who post comments used a dictionary because there are so many spelling mistakes it makes a joke of the postings. There are many anomalies but it is a depiction of what the producers think was happening. Unfortunately the producers do not appear to have much knowledge of eighteenth century England. - ha ha ha

This film is a travesty for anybody who has actually READ the book which is part of classical American literature. Everything is wrong - the settings, the language, the costumes the sequence!!! - Why call it Little Women based on the novel by Louisa M Alcott? - the woman must be turning in her grave.

I am always irritated by the modern take on historical facts. Charles I was not 5ft 4ins. The average height in those days was around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins so at 5ft 4ins he would not have been considered "short". Many glaring errors. I have been reading history all my life, both fictionalised and factual. Also, how can he be called "weak" when he would not retract even in the face of death? Sorry - the programme is poppycock!

Just surprised that somebody as highly educated as Susie Dent does not trouble to check the correct pronunciations of words of Eastern origin On today's show she said Maidens for MAIDANS - this is pronounced Mydarns - Not "Maidens"

Very watchable tv but totally untrue. I had four of my eight children in the 1960s - two at home and two in hospital. The portraying the the breathing etc., is not authentic as those things came much much later. Also, the benevolent midwifes! The nurses in the hospitals were not so nice either. The nicest I remember were an Irish girl and a German girl who were really caring and sweet. Life was not like that in the 60s - certainly not in East London or anywhere in the UK I also had a baby which had to be turned and what they show is absolutely not what happened! Still, nice, sentimental stories - to bad they are so untrue Also - the portrayal of a Bangladeshi family!!!!! Bangladesh did not come into being until 1971

Extraordinary misrepresentations. If one looks at actual footage of the silver jubilee in 1977 - the Queen was still looking very slim and youthful and the Queen Mother was her usual self as was Princess Margaret. Watching season 3 they appear dumpy and middle aged in 1964! Many other glaring errors and misquoting of facts. However, episode 4 was excellent telling the incredible story of Princess Alice - Prince Phillip's mother who survived inhuman treatment and kept her faith and her love of humankind Not well researched as far as the rest goes, however
