Wow this is bad. I made it through 2 episodes and couldn’t keep going. The writers made a huge mistake in not giving the audience a reason to want the kid to succeed in getting to Texas. As written, she’s just a one note, unlikable character. I don’t believe for a second that Ruby wouldn’t drop that kid off at a police station immediately...and I know they tried to justify it with the threat of abuse. Didn’t work for me. I really wanted to like this, so it’s a little heartbreaking.
