Boo hoo to upper middle class angst. Nicole's upset because she didnt choose the furntiure. Charlie thinks only of his career and he doesnt want to move to LA where Nicole wants to be. I understand, I played at some of this too when I was younger. But working with refugees who have lost everything in war including many family members, somehow makes me want to shout Enough! Grow up! Look after your son and find a way to work together. It would be so nice if Noah Baumbach could find more imortant tales to tell than navel gazing stories of people with too much money and freedom and not enough sense of duty and responsiblity.
I reaize that divorce and the breakdown of the family is amajor concern in the western world today. Why not a movie from the lower middle class standpoint or black or immgrant view? Maybe we would learn something other than how self centred some relatively wealthy people can be.
