Ive watched The Idol twice since it came out and i really dont get the hate it gets. It follows Jocelyn, a pop star trying to make a comeback, and things spiral fast when she gets involved with Tedros a creepy, controlling club owner who pulls her into a darker world. The show dives into fame, manipulation, power, and control in a way that’s raw and messy, but that’s the point. Lily-Rose Depp is incredible, and The Weeknd fully commits to being uncomfortable to watch (in a good way). It’s not a typical, polished drama it’s chaotic and disturbing in all the right ways. People hating on it just weren’t ready for how real and unfiltered it gets. And another thing, The Weeknd’s acting is not bad it’s intentionally unsettling, which actually makes Tedros feel way more real and manipulative
