I've read about 15 King books, & I've only come across one (so far) that I didn't particularly enjoy, & that was Hearts in Atlantis. I don't know whether that was because it was tied in to other books of King's that I haven't read yet or because I just didn't enjoy it. You can't love them all, right?
Anyway I digress, because of this, & not wanting to miss references to the multiverse in future reads, I have decided to go right back to the start & read all of his books in order of publication - obviously starting with his first - Carrie.
I'm about halfway through (I had to check online for how many pages are in the novel as I'm reading it on my phone & thought 170 was wayyyyy too short for King! ๐) & I am thoroughly enjoying it so far. I can't believe I haven't read it before! I do have the paperback somewhere but typically I can't find it, my books have moved house with me numerous times & I've never lost one but this time I seem to have lost one. Carrie.
I love the writing style, how it's written in interviews, newspaper clippings, etc... I wasn't expecting it to be written like that & I think it works. I'm very much looking forward to getting it finished over the next few hours, I can't put it down!
Highly recommend! It's also a really good starter book for people wanting to get into King as it's easy to follow & isn't long winded like a lot of his books - though I like that, I know a lot of people struggle getting into his books & it puts them off but honestly, keep at them, they are so worth it! Big thumbs up from me! ๐๐ป๐งก
