I rate this movie Weird out of Weird.

This movie stars the violent, deranged, liar and abuser Amber Heard, this fact alone makes it the worse movie ever released in 2023. I'm only giving it 1 star, because I can't give it 0.

This is one of the best movies I watched this year. A straightforward story that doesn't waste time with unnecessary exposition or with giving too much explanations about everything presented. It's a very scary but emotional tale of growing up with traumas, pain and losses while finding strength in family and friends and in yourself to keep fighting. Everybody nailed their roles, especially Ethan Hawke (one of my favorite actors), and the pacing of the movie is just perfect to keep you hooked while taking it's time to develop the characters and its universe. The kids playing Finney and Gwen did an amazing job and damn, I wish we could see more from Robin, 'cause every kid needs a friend like Robin in their lives. I can't recommend The Black Phone enough, it's just and amazing and engaging experience, so well put together that I can't really think of one single to thing to complain about.

I watched the movie yesterday and I have to say that I'm glad that I was wrong this whole time: the movie is excellent and it is NOT a "woke cringe fest" at tall. The people involved in this product did their research and they have real respect for the Predator, the Lore, and the Past Movies. But the best part is that the female lead is NOT a "Mary Sue", she mostly relies on her wits, observing, learning and fighting back while taking a good beat as expected — and that's what makes the final battle believable, even though it was kinda short in my opinion. The movie has a "feminist undertone", yes, but it doesn't compromise the plot development nor the final quality, what shows it is possible to get a message across without making the whole thing a political cringe fest and while focusing on what matters the most. That's how you make a good movie that everybody can enjoy. I'm really happy to have a good Predator movie after all these years and and after so many disappointments. In fact, I think we can safely scrap the 2010 and 2021 movies and put this one as the true sequel to the two first movies and consider it all the true trilogy that really matters.

I just finished watching the movie, right now... and I'm very disappointed. The movie is half-baked in every aspect that truly matters, with underdeveloped, unlikable and dumb characters and wasted opportunities everywhere. The kills are okay, but nothing was very impressive, with only the bus scene being the most memorable part of the whole thing. Kudos to the actor playing Leatherface, to... he's very creepy and menacing and he nailed the particular walking and "chainsaw dancing" at the end.

A fun "Die Hard in a School" movie with a strong female protagonist that's not a Mary Sue, male characters that are not completely evil or completely moronic, and realistic action on top of a sensible topic without gratuitous politics being shoved at your face at all times. These are reasons more than enough to watch this film, because it's a breath of fresh air that proves that's possible to have a good flick with a female hero that anyone can like and relate with.

Oh, boy... that's a hard one. I really wanted to love this movie, I was hoping this would be the definitive RE adaptation, but unfortunately is not. It's another case of "it could've been a better movie if it was not a Resident Evil movie", just like the Milla Jovovich franchise. The movie itself is not bad, it just doesn't reach it's full potential. You can see there is a lot of love put into this production, there's a lot of nods, easter-eggs and faithful recreation of locations and props, the score is really good and in line with the games... but that's not enough to make the movie really stand out. The writing is weak. Almost all characters were watered down or completely changed, mostly in a unnecessary and dumb way, and the fact they combined the first two games into a single story make everything rushed and underdeveloped. As a Netflix or HBO Max series, with each season adapting one of the games, things could've been so much more engaging and fun, but as a standalone movie it just doesn't offer everything a fan expects. At the end is just a waste of opportunity, but it's totally worth your time and if you like RE you should watch it, just don't expect nothing memorable.

This movie could've been a new modern B cult classic, like "Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer" or even "Slither"... but instead is just a waste of a fantastic cast and a really cool core idea. The writing is weak, the characters are poorly developed and the plot is poorly executed with no creative twists nor memorable heroes. It's watchable, especially to see Bruce Campbell fighting evil once more, but it's nothing that deserves a permanent spot in anyone's list.

The gore is actually good, the zombie makeup is all over the place but it's okay, and the acting is passable... but the writing, damn, the writing is atrocious and full of cliché dialogues and boring situations being unnecessarily stretched out in a sad attempt of hooking the viewer. This show is a sad exploitation of Romero's name and has nothing do to with any of his movies in any capacity. You'll be better watching "Z Nation" or "Black Summer" or even "TWD: World Beyond", because yeah... even "World Beyond" manages to be a better and more engaging show than Day of the Dead. That's how bad this show really is.

The movie is fun and full of heart and that's all that matters. Anyone who disliked it is not excellent and definitely don't know how to party on.
