My favourite childrenโs book of all time, first read it at school over 40 years ago and bought two copies since, re-read it often. Very atmospheric story of two kids who team up to defy a gang of bullies in 50s London, lead by an obnoxious Teddy boy who is embarrassed because he thinks his late Dad was a florist, hence his desire to cause as much damage and disruption to the Grove as possible. Martin and Geneva have other ideas however. This would have made a fantastic movie in my opinion. A beautiful representation of times past, and the illustrations are fantastic too.
