We purchased both cart last year when they came out. We thought the cats would love them and they do. We haveva see through fire place between our living room and dining room. We thought the perfect track to race around the house. Now the bad part, cars barely move on carpet, this is not shag, it's a large, flat oriental rug. If you hit them at speed they will pop over the 3/8" thick rug and struggle to move. The work on hardwood and tile floors but need room to turn, they cannot turn around in a normal hall way. The Bluetooth drops out after about 10 minutes and the cars cannot be driven around the fireplace. The power ups help when going through the arrows and speed temporary increases, but it is a struggle to keep 2 carts running, as they drop out often and get stuck on thin carpet if you stop and start. We have the switch on our TV about 10 ft from the race course we set up. We sit with the controllers on the couch about 5ft away to one side. At 15ft they have trouble staying linked. A full charge and they work for a short time then start to glitch. We have never been able to finish a race. It's fun to watch, the cats like to chase the cars but it's not ready in my opinion. I'm not complaining about the price, I knew what it cost when we bought it. We have 2 switch consoles, extra controllers and charger for those. And like the portability of a hand held w/docking to the TV. Jusr wish the cars could handle normal home floors that may include carpeting. If you have a basement that may be your best bet. We kept the cars and rarely use them because of the frustration of loosing the link and getting stuck on pretty flat smooth carpeting.
